The World’s Most Authentic Johnny Cash Tribute Show
Saturday August 11th at 6:00pm at the Grandstand
“How authentic?” you ask.
Not only does this band contain the last living relative of a member of Johnny Cash’s original band, Paul Anthony “Cash” was invited to record with Johnny Cash’s musicians by John Carter Cash himself.
Each of the band members has made a special effort to replicate the sound of the band member they portray. Paul Anthony’s vocals will likely have you convinced that he is channeling The Man In Black. Bill Carruthers (as Fluke Holland), who is the last living relative of a Cash Band member, will be playing on the same drum kit used in the recordings from the “The Nashville Connection” album. Pete Sisk (as Marshall Grant) and Steve Petrie (as Luther Perkins), complete the authentic sound of the Johnny Cash band.
Paul Anthony is one of the few Johnny Cash Tribute artists who is genuine enough to have caught the interest of John Carter Cash and Tara Cash. As a result, he was invited to the Cash Cabin in to take part in recording “The Nashville Connection” album. He performed alongside Johnny Cash’s musicians WS “Fluke” Holland (drummer), Dave Roe (bass player), Kenny Vaughn (guitar), Chris Scruggs, and producer Chuck Turner.
Paul Anthony also had the special honor of recording an acoustic version of Johnny Cash’s final release “Hurt” from the living room of Johnny Cash’s farmhouse in Bon Aqua, Tennessee in September 2016. You can view the video HERE.
