Design our Colouring Contest

Sec. 6. Youth up to and including age 12. Design the Children’s Colouring Contest for next year’s fair book. A line drawing on white paper 8 1/2″ x 11″ design so that it may be coloured in (i.e. as it would appear in a child’s colouring book). Must be done with black ink or black marker. Leave 1/2″ border. Erase any pencil marks.
Note: winner must leave drawing with the Comber Fair for publication in the next year’s colouring contest.

2017 Winner of the “Design our Colouring Contest”
(Class 92 Section 6)
This year we will continue to offer the opportunity to compete at the District and Provincial levels. Create an “Original hand made design” poster that is promoting the Comber Fair. The name of the fair and this year’s date – August 10, 11, 12, 2018 – must be clearly shown on the poster. The poster must be hand drawn. Poster size: minimum 22cm x 28cm, without border. Maximum 28cm x 44cm, without border. Each entry must be centred on CARDSTOCK or BRISTOL BOARD exposing a 5.5cm border on all four sides. Name of fair, district #, contact person, phone number, owner of poster, complete mailing address must be clearly labeled on the back of each entry. We are District #9.

Note: The winning poster from each group is eligible to compete at District level (November 2018) for a chance to win at Provincial level (February 2019). Judging Standards include: 1. Overall Appearance – 50 points; 2. Hand drawn – 35 points; 3. OAAS criteria (size, material, theme) – 15 points. Adult membership is required for ages 13 and over.
The Essex County Farm Association works to make farm life safer for everyone through education. We invite you to enter our safety poster competition. Posters will not be returned, but will be displayed at various county events and agri-businesses throughout the year.
Design a poster to present a winter safety message on the farm such as: proper operation of a snowblower, vehicles equipped with snow plows or blades, tractors with front end loaders, proper clearing of snow and/or ice removal, etc.
Posters must be on half a sheet of bristol board. Any media may be used. No computer drawings will be accepted. Spelling and grammar will be considered. The poster must be the original work of the exhibitor.
